Just Another Patriots Family Reunion

Reading multiple reports by NBC Boston, CBS, and The Boston Globe estimating over one million people at the New England Patriots Super Bowl parade, it was no surprise there was a turn out like what we saw today. A warm 50 degree spring day that found itself in February drew fans from all over the region. News channels from Maine and New Jersey were filming and interviewing fans prior to the start of the parade trying to capture the chaos happening in Boston.
The entirety of the two mile parade route had fans lined up anywhere from seven to fifteen rows deep depending which side of Boylston Street you were on (See image on right). Everyone was rowdy, energetic, and impatient to see their Super Bowl Champions roam the streets once again.
No matter who you were, what your job was, if you were an athlete, front office, police officer, or bus driver, you were cheered for. I promise you, empty busses were being cheered on by fans as they drove by just because everyone wanted something to cheer about. People wanted to take part in the festivities as much as possible. Once Robert Kraft opened up the parade followed by the Patriots players, the crowd erupted. Per usual, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski stole the show by shotgunning beers, dancing, going shirtless, and singing to raise the crowds energy.
The twenty minute parade that never seemed to get old, was highlighted by the number six. Not one duck boat that went by didn't either count the numbers out with their fingers, hold up a sign, keep up two hands, or scream it out hoping for the crowd to follow their chant. It is certainly a dynasty here in New England, and I know the Patriots would love to host it again next year. What is guaranteed though, is the fans loyalty and never ending cockiness about their team.
